Do you use a jailbroken iPhone/iPad or a rooted Android device? The manufacturers claim that rooting or jailbreaking devices violates Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). In 2010 the US Copyright office issued a temporary 2 year exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA) that granted users the right to root or jailbreak their phone and devices. New Facebook scam: Chuck Norris is dead!
Today Sophus security released information about a new Facebook Scam claiming that Chuck Norris has died. Like many other Facebook scams this one tries to look as convincing as possible prompt you to click the link. The message even says there is an attached news video telling the whole story. Clicking on the link will open a web page with survey information asking for your name, address and other things and then promising a free Starbucks gift card or other great prize. Read more
Alert: Symantec says “disable PCAnywhere software” until patch is released

Earlier this year hackers in India affiliated with hacking group ‘Anonymous’ released details stating that they had possession of source code from Symantec products ranging from Anti-virus to remote system access. First you will need to go to accounts.google.com/sesame. This page will display a QR code as seen here. Next use your Iphone or Android phone to scan the QR code. This will signal Google that you are located at the terminal displaying the QR code. Once the code has been scanned the web page will refresh and you will be logged into your Google account. Give it a try, it works great.
