32Gb USB Jumpdrive – Great deal at Newegg
We needed a few USB drives to create toolbox drives and as we were looking around for a good deals we found this drive from Lexar. It is a USB 2.0 32Gb jump drive with swivel cover and Newegg has it today only for $22.99 and free shipping. For a name brand drive with that capacity this is a great deal so we wanted to let our readers know about it too.

HP releases iLO app for Android & iPhone

Last month HP quietly released the iLO app for Android and iOS devices, if you are running Prolient servers with iLO (integrated lights out) then you really need to look into this app. Just like the desktop client, this app will allow you to log into your server, mount images and load software from your portable device. If you support servers that are iLO capable then this software will make your life easier. No longer will you be limited by your location when something goes wrong or you need to do some updates to you system. Microsoft has released the Windows 8 consumer preview dowload

If you like to tryout new versions of software then this is for you. Microsoft has released the Windows 8 consumer preview for download. This release is just like the ones for Vista and Windows 7, you can download it and install it to you PC to try out the software for a limited amount of time usually 180 Days. The download trial will allow you to create either an ISO image to burn to a DVD for installation or to create a bootable USB drive.

Western Digital and Toshiba have agreed to exchange product manufacturing facilities
Western Digital has agreed to sell equipment and factory space to Toshiba corporation that is used to manufacture 3.5″ disk drives and will be acquiring Toshiba’s Thailand 2.5″ drive facilities. This “swap” of assets is dependent on the approval of the merger between Western Digital and Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. With completion of this exchange Toshiba will have the ability to manufacture drives for Desktop and consumer products as well as Enterprise grade business drives. Western Digital will get manufacturing factories in Thailand that were damaged in the recent flooding. These factories have not come back on line yet but when they do will be able to extend the 2.5″ drive production capabilities of the company. Read more
Repairing a Samsung 940N with a blinking power light.
We have been getting more and more of these units in our service center with bad power supplies. If you have a 940N with a blinking power light and no display, is slow to show a picture, or has a wavy picture then this guide should help you get your monitor back going again. The most common power board used in this model is the Bizet-17 power supply board, also know as BN44-00123A. There is another board too, so check your board model number. We will post the parts detail on that board too. The typical problem with the monitor is a failure of capacitors on the power supply board. The repair is fairly easy, just requiring replacing 6 capacitors to bring the unit back to life. Read more
