Gateway corp. produced the FDP1975W monitor with 2 different power supply boards, this guide is for the units with the ILPI-021 power supply board also known as a 79070140 board. If your monitor has no power, a flashing power light, is very dim or takes a long time to display a picture then this guide should help you out. The power supply boards fail because of the parts called capacitors that overheat and short out. Look here if your power supply board does not look like the one below.

The capacitors that need to be replaced are shown circled in yellow. The values and board locations are as follows:
C509 220uf 35v
C820 & C807 47uf 25v
C818 1000uf 10v
C815 680uf 25v
C817 470uf 25v
C522 150uf 35v

Be sure to use good quality low ESR, high ripple current, high temp capacitors or you can damage the power supply board. More information on getting the correct capacitors can be found on our capacitor page.

We sell a repair kit with all of the proper capacitors for $14.00 if you don’t want to worry about getting the correct parts.

This is not guaranteed to solve all problems but in most cases this is the issue with this model.

If you don’t want to do the repair yourself, use the service request link. Most monitor repairs run $30-35 plus return shipping.
