EVO 4G Gingerbread update is now available
The HTC EVO 4G update to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is now available. This update will get you all the new APIs and improvements but the HTC Sense looks and feels the same, sorry no Sense 3. The 2.3 update will bring improved downloads by including a new download manager application. You can now access all downloads easily whether they were downloaded from a browser, Email or other app. Additional bug fixes include syncing to multiple G-mail accounts feature is enabled again and the Battery discharge problems should be solved.
The update is fairly large at 109.21Meg so be warned it will take a bit to download and install it. To update your home go to: Menu/Settings/System Updates/HTC software update. After updating your phone your OS should read Android 2.3 and the system version should be 4.22.651.2 It looks like the move to Gingerbread is beginning to happen, right now less than 10% of Android phones are running Gingerbread.
