If you have a Acer AL1916W,Viewsonic VA1916b,VA1926W,VA1916W Westinghouse L1975NW or L2046NV or Gateway FPD-1830 monitor that has no picture but a solid green power light then this should help get you back running. All of these monitors use the DAC-19M005 power supply board. Below you will find a full walk through on repairing your LCD monitor. To do the repair you will need the following tools: Soldering iron, de-solder braid, Phillips screwdriver, flat blade screwdriver. You will also need the following electronic parts: qty(2) 220uf 25v capacitors, qty(2)  40T03GP MOSFETs and qty(1) surface mount 4 amp fuse. We sell a repair kit with all of the parts for the repair in our parts store.  If you don’t want to do the repair yourself then use the ‘Service Request form’ above.

Here we have a non functional Westinghouse L1975NW 19″ LCD monitor. The one has a dark screen, if you shine a light at the screen you can still see the image.

First you need to remove the power cable, signal cable and the stand. To remove the stand pull the plastic cover off and remove the 4 screws.

Now remove the four screws, one in each corner, as shown by the arrows.

After the screws are removed you will need to pry the back of the case off as illustrated in the pictures below. Use a small flat bladed screwdriver. Once you have a little gap in the case just pull the 2 halves apart and work your way around the screen.

After the screen unit is removed from the plastic case we can get down to the repair. We need to remove the power supply unit. You will need to unplug the 4 backlight connections ( Red arrows). The remove the 10 screws that are holding the metal shield in place (yellow arrows).

Now unscrew and remove the power supply board.

The components that we will be removing are labeled C204, CE101, Q205, Q206 and F200 located on the bottom of the board. The capacitors need to be installed with the proper polarity so be sure to check the board markings (new capacitor stripe facing same way as old capacitor strip)

The fuse F200 is located on the bottom of the power supply board, and is about the size of a grain of rice.

After the parts are replaced just reverse the procedure to reassemble the case. Now apply power and you should have a fully functional monitor again.

  2. Does this kit apply to the DAC-19m009? The reason I ask is that my power supply seems to have 3 blown caps on it? Does this kit include the all three caps or just the ones mentioned above?

  4. Hello Joe,

  10. I’m experiencing symptoms listed for this fix and I am nothing short of amazed that this information has been made available. I have a Navy electronics background and will gratefully give it a go. Thanks for putting this out to the masses.

  12. Hello,

I’m glad we could help. When we started our tech dept could not find any information about this type of repair and we thought other people would be looking for it too.

  14. Hello, thanks for the great information. I have a LCD Monitor, brand: KDS model K226WDb /2200W. Manufactured in 2007
It wouldn’t start up after powering down. It would try to start, then go white and with a phantom picture. Pressing the monitor power button, multiple times eventually made it start up and run OK.
I left it on all the time for like 3 weeks and had no problem. Now it finally doesn’t start up at all after it went dark. The power led is flickering slowly and pressing it multiple times doesn’t do it anymore.
Is there a repair instruction/repair kit I can use for this monitor?
    Thanks SSOO much
    C.

  16. Thanks for sharing this information.

I have a DAC-19m005 Rev 01a AF and replaced all of the items as suggested. I now get a high-pitched whine when the power LED is amber (and still a blank screen). When I click the power button, it lights green and the whine disappears, but after a few seconds the LED goes amber and the whine resumes.

I am going to try and replace all of the other caps. Could you please advise what the values are of the others? (Some of mine were covered in glue which obscures the values).

    Many thanks

  18. Recheck the soldering on the fuse on the bottom of the board. The surface mount fuse causes a good deal of problems if you have not done much surface mount repair. Several people have missed one end or the other and thought it was connected but it missed. The high pitched sound is the inverters running but if the fuse is blown or not soldered in right the control board will not get power. You can post a few picture of the board in our forum section if you would like and we will look over the other caps and let you know what to try next.

  20. Hello,

No guide for this unit yet but if you would like to post a few pictures of the power board in our forum section Our tech will look over the pictures and try to give you a direction to go.

  22. I ordered the kit discussed on this site. The mosfets I received were different. I have the ones pictured above. The new one’s are 135N03L GAC750. The replacements are about half the size, though they will fit in the solder holes in the board. Are these the correct replacements? The instructions above indicate the originals not the new part #’s. ????

  24. Took a leap of faith and replaced ? parts. Fixed, no smoke.

  25. Rod Dyer on Mon, 26th Apr 2010 8:32 pm
  26. I replaced the parts but I’m not gonna smoke test unless Admin comes back and clarifies the parts are correct. I’m gettin’ a little miffed that a kit gets recommended but gets no backin’. What’s up with that?

  32. I have the DAC-19M005 Rev. 02A. The 1st 6 Caps (bottom of pic to top) are bulging, 7th cap (top cap circled in pic) is 470uf 25v and doesn’t appear to be bulging at all. Do you have a kit for this particular scenario.

  34. Here is the link to the repair guide for the Westinghouse LCM-22W3 monitor it uses the DAC-19M009 power board which is the same as the DAC-19M005, one has sound and one does not. http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/repairing-the-westinghouse-lcm-22w3/

  36. Or do you really think with o experience i could replace these parts myself.

  37. admin on Fri, 21st May 2010 2:34 pm
  38. The mosfets and the capacitors are no problem. Where you might have some difficulties is with the very small fuse on the bottom of the board. We have sold many kits for users to install and most people get the job done without sending the board to us.

  40. Wondering….

My monitor (same model) turns on for about five seconds, then turns off again. Different symptom. Both 220/25v caps were bulged. Replaced both. No change.

  42. Different symptom. Same monitor.

Green light on power up. Monitor comes on. Green light. Five seconds later, red light, monitor powers off. I can do this any number of times. Replaced bulged 220/25v caps. No change.

    Any thoughts?

  43. Jack Dedert on Sat, 12th Feb 2011 3:51 pm
  44. Hmmm…. Never mind. It does that apparently with no signal applied. Glad I thought to check that before I dug any deeper into it. I’ll check back if it dies again (assuming it ever did…I got it supposedly bad). Looks nice. Hope it holds up. A lot of folks have apparently had trouble w/this one.

    Hope this helps somebody….

  46. Being a total novice, I had the symptoms and bought the kit here. Once I was inside, I found that the power board I have is a different model. DAC-19m008. Oops. The parts supplied in the kit are not for me! SO..i recommend that if you arrive here with this problem, open the monitor first and check what the numbers on your board say! Then ask these good folks for the right parts if yours is different.

  48. i have the acer aL1916w, and have been looking at the power board for an hour to find the corresponding parts, but to no avail… it is specifically mentioned in your post, but my power board reads:dac-12m030. perhaps you might have an idea of what i can do. when plugged in, the green power led flickers slowly. is it a similar fix? thanks in advance. you offer a great service!

  49. CCL_TECH on Mon, 7th May 2012 8:29 pm
  50. That board is not usually used in the Acer Al1916W but has been used when they ran out of the original board. Here is a link to the guide for that board.

The same type of repair can be done the only thing different is the parts used.

  54. I recently received an LCD Repair Kit for model Westinghouse L1975NW. The two mosfets I received are smaller and are not 40T03GP like your website states I would receive, and that are on my monitor. Did I receive the wrong ones? Would the ones I received work anyway (they are 135 NO3L HAC 143)? How do I get the right ones if not? This is the same issue as Rod Dyer’s from his comments above, but I didn’t see a resolution. Thanks.

  55. Chris on Tue, 5th Jun 2012 11:52 am
  56. Update. I received same-day response from a ccl tech. Although the mosfets I received were smaller, they are the correct ones and are of better quality. Installed all parts in the kit, and my monitor works again. Thanks ccl. As gordo wrote…”you guys rock!”

  58. Hi- I replaced just the 2 capacitors and the backlight is still not working. In your experience will replacing the MOSFETS and SMD fuse as well always get it working?

  59. CCL_TECH on Sun, 23rd Sep 2012 9:09 pm
  60. Yes, When the capacitors fail they cause the mosfets and fuse to blow. Its a chain reaction, when one part goes the others go too, everytime.

  61. Matt on Sun, 14th Oct 2012 12:58 am
  62. Would you be willing to sell the kit without the capacitors for a reduced price?

  63. jon on Thu, 4th Apr 2013 10:02 am
  64. Where is the link to buy this?
