Yeah it's an old monitor but it's really nice with built-in speakers.
Anyway, had a storm last week and monitor wouldn't power up the next day. Put another LCD there (smaller and no speakers tho), works so it's not PC. I get NOTHING from pushing power button... it worked a couple of years until storm hit. And... PC/Monitor were all turned off during storm and not even an electric flicker.
I've fixed some monitors which have the power cord plugged directly into monitor... usually 3 caps... but this guy has a 12v power converter. I've checked the converter and getting 12v-13v (cheap meter). I've field-stripped the LCD and eye-sighted the two "little" boards... I don't see anything out of the ordinary.
Being a wannabe-hardware type... I don't know where to go next... yet that is. All I see via Google is... toss it, buy another. Good advice if one has $100 lying around.
Anyone have any ideas?? Even if it's a URL showing me how to trouble-shoot this 12v guy!
Thanks in advance!!
