Emprex WT323

Postby dookiesbox » Wed Jun 08, 2011 5:09 pm

hey all, I have an emprex wt323 lcd, it's an older tv bought new 4-5 years ago. the tv was working well, until several days ago. Symptoms: led has a red light lit when tv is off, when tv is powered on led turn to greenish-yellow. I tried to diagnose the problem with the help of google and led me to this site from a post from fixya.com according to the post, the culprit is the capacitor.

Now I'm willing to do the work if it is straightforward, I do not have a lot of experience with electronics but with good instructions I'm confident I can execute needs to be done.

I've read through the capacitors webpage on this site so my knowledge of capacitors is limited to that page. Anyhow, point is if changing the capacitors will do save me from buying a new tv, i'm sold. So first of all, thank you for the website and for the help. Technology is so advanced nowadays I'm glad there are sites like this to help dumb it down a bit. And second of all, how should i get started, what's the next step?

Hello,

Sorry for the late relay, we missed the post. It does sound like your power supply board is having issues. The WT323 has 2 different power supply assemblies that could be used in your TV.

Some units used the TOM202CABB power supply board and some units used the TOM201CABB board.

Here is the TOM202CABB.

And here is the TOM201CABB.

The thing to do would be to open the back of the TV and check to see which board your unit has. Check this and let us know so we can get the correct information for you.
