element flx-3710 lcd

i have an element 37 inch lcd which powers on and just shows a black screen (meaning the backlights work, but no actual picture) i've researched but cant find much. what happened was, i was using the tv as a pc monitor, when all of a sudden, the power went out and i guess it was a surge. well when the power came back, there was no picture anymore. i tried changing inputs, but nothing worked. i took the tv apart, but didnt see any bad caps or damage to the boards. is there something i could be missing?

Well usually if the back lights are working they screen will appear white not black. It sounds like your back lights are not turning on. Can you post a picture or two of each of the boards in the unit - Power supply and driver board.
