Viewsonic VX2245WM Power led stays Blue but no display

Any input would be nice. I will look at the Cap when I get home.

If anyone can help me get a service manual for this model, that would be helpful.

I do have another LCD that is not working, but I need to find it

Hello Chuck,

We don't have a service manual for that model but I would bet the 2245 uses the same power supply as the 2235 does with is a DAC-19M009. This power supply is also used in many Westinghouse monitors. Check it and see, if it is then look at this article on our main site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/repairing-the-westinghouse-lcm-22w3/ If your power supply is different then please post a picture or two of the boards in your unit here on our forum and we will try to get you going again and other users may need the information too.

Thanks CCL_Tech, the another LCD turns out to be Westinghouse LCM-22W3, but I'm having a problem getting the metal shield to lift off. anymore input on how to do that?

I also have not touch the Viewsonic yet. A tear down manual would help

The nuts on the VGA and DVI connectors and the screws on the AC power plug will all need to be removed before the shield will come off. Also its much easier if you take the whole display assembly out of the plastic case, then the bottom piece of metal that is part of the mounting bracket will slide down a bit so you can remove the shield. We don't have a dis-assembly guide yet for the VX2245 unit but if you look over the over guides you should be able to get ideas about how to do it.

I see that I need Number 7,5,3,2 and 1 for the Westinghouse LCM-22W3

3 - 220uf 25v
2 - 1000uf 25v

Where would be a good place to buy parts?

On the Viewsonic I'll try to find other guides

If those capacitors are bulging you should replace the rest too, they may not show it but they will fail soon. Do the full repair while you have it open so you don't have to go back and do it again in 2 months. Do not use capacitors from Radio Shack, they are not rated for the High heat and low ESR needed to operate in the power supply. I'll take photos of the Viewsonic as I reassemble so that a tear down page can be crated here.

On this page it makes reference to qty(3) 220mf 25v capacitors, but I see on the power supply 220uf 25v capacitor

The capacitors can be mark either uf or mf but both marking are the same, they both stand for microfarad.
